Synopsis
We all know how the story begins: Lucy Harker begins suffering from a mysterious illness, and baffled by her rapid deterioration, Dr. Jack Seward calls his mentor for help – Professor Abraham Van Helsing, who arrives in Whitby to discover that Lucy has fallen victim to a vampire. Fortunately, he is well versed in the children of the night and leaps into action to protect her.
Things take an unexpected turn, however, when Van Helsing himself falls prey to the vampire’s bite just before Lucy’s tragic death! With Jack and the rest of the group’s belief in him strained from the very start, Van Helsing works quickly to prove that Lucy has become an undead monster so they can save her soul. Moved to action by this revelation, the men make an ill-fated attempt to visit Carfax Abbey where they meet Count Dracula, barely surviving an attack by his vampire brides before discovering Mina has become his next victim. Most shocking of all, they learn Dracula can now walk unharmed in the sunlight!
With the danger escalating quickly into unknown territory, Van Helsing takes matters into his own hands and travels to the Count’s second property in London to confront him. Dracula presents him with an ultimatum: leave him be, or have the world learn Van Helsing’s true identity as Frankenstein’s Creation! Focused on the risk the legendary vampire presents to the world if he continues his reign of terror, Van Helsing chooses to return with the group to destroy the monster, only for the Count to follow through on his threat. When his friends then completely turn against him due to his own ghastly past, Van Helsing sets out for home again – despondent, broken, and alone.
But then a fateful encounter strengthens Van Helsing’s resolve, and even though society and his friends have shunned him, he returns to help them defeat the vampire brides. During the battle, the Count manages to escape and kidnap Mina in the process, edging her closer toward becoming one of the undead and taking her place as his new bride! With time running out to save her and put a stop to the vampire’s spread, Van Helsing must lead the men into one final showdown against evil. But if he’s going to save Mina and destroy Dracula once and for all, Abraham Van Helsing will have to truly face his past and what it means to be a monster – because this is Dracula vs. Frankenstein.
There’s more at stake.
